River Phoenix – Remembering My First Man Crush

This week (October 31) marked the 19 year anniversary of River Phoenix‘s death. For those too young to remember, he was THE hot young actor of his time in the late 80s/early 90s. Older brother to Joaquin Phoenix, River was not only talented onscreen starring in such films as Stand by Me, Running on Empty and Gus Van Sant’s My Own Private Idaho; he also played guitar in a rock band. As a young teenager I adored the guy, in a straight kind of way, and wanted both his fashion and his hair. He died too young. Missing you River.
